Last week, we discussed why one must Be Your Authentic Self.
So, how do we become more authentic?
This is a lifelong question, and the answers may be complex because it is a process and a journey. It is not an overnight fix but an intention with results. It is keeping yourself on track and observing your behavior and choices. One must leave their ego out and focus on their actions. This is what being authentic is all about. Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita instructs Arjuna not to focus on what looks right and wrong but be confident and do the right thing.
Some tools that may help are:
- Be open to your current Self and accept who you are without judgment.
- Be proud of yourself for starting on this journey of becoming more authentic.
- Identify any discrepancies you may have between your belief system and your actions
- Have faith in yourself that you are on the right track to exploring your Self
- Keep track by identifying your actions daily and then try to correct them if needed.
- Practice Self-compassion
