In the last week’s Monday Motivation, I wrote three steps to purify your mind, listed below.  First, become aware of when you feel greedy, jealous, anxious, or negative emotions. Pay attention to your desires. Intention and attention are both extremely important in purifying your mind.

It is not any different than setting goals for anything else. One must have a goal to purify their mind, which is the intention.  In the Vedas, it is clearly stated that Sankalp is the key to all goals in life. This Sankalp is the intention and must be clearly stated to achieve that goal.  First, pay attention to your negative thoughts and become aware of your own desires and reasons for those thoughts.  One must be honest with themselves and be authentic about who they are without excuses.  Research shows that every time you change your negative thought to a positive one, you are rewiring your brain to be more positive, but it takes work with intention and attention.

“Rewire your brain by changing your thoughts”

  1. Become aware when you are feeling greedy, jealousy, anxiety, or any other negative emotions. Pay attention to your desires.
  2. Use your intellect to analyze and figure out why, without any excuse
  3. Use tools such as affirmations, mantras, or others to change from negative to positive thoughts. Meditation and breathing can also be very helpful in this transition.
